Gladiators add Clackson and Skelly for 2011-12 season
The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and the Rochester Americans and Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.
Clackson earned 24 points (10g-14a) in 46 games last season with Greenville and Cincinnati in the. He also earned four points (2g-2a) in 17 games in the American Hockey League with Rochester He appeared in two games but did not register a point with the Adirondack Phantoms of the AHL at the conclusion of the 2009-10 season after he completed his senior year at Western Michigan University.
The Pittsburgh, Pa. native recorded 36 points (19g-17a) in 129 career collegiate games at Western Michigan. Clackson also notched 169 career penalty minutes while with the Broncos.
Skelly tallied 230 points (102g-128a) in 114 career NCAA Division III games at Adrian College. He also appeared in two playoff games with the Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League last year following his senior season.
The Walled Lake, Mich. native completed his collegiate career as the Adrian College all-time leader in assists (128), power play goals (47), shots on goal (593) and game-winning goals (20). Skelly also helped Adrian College to two appearances in the NCAA Division III ice hockey tournament including a Runner-Up finish last season.
