Biography
Auffrey, a Cincinnati, Ohio native, was selected in the sixth round of the 2004 NHL entry draft by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. He played six seasons in juniors and parts of two seasons at the University of Wisconsin before making his pro debut with the Augusta Lynx in 2007. A former teammate of his who has gone on to the NHL is Joe Pavelski. His favorite hockey memory is winning the silver medal at the World Junior Championships in 2004. He models his game after Cam Neely and says the best thing about being a hockey player is “being part of the toughest sport.” His pet peeve is cell phones. His first job was in rink maintenance. His hobbies include motorcycles, guitar, and tattoos. His favorite team growing up was the Boston Bruins. His favorite foods are chicken and lobster, his favorite band is Bullet for My Valentine, and his favorite actor is Megan Fox. If he wasn’t paying hockey professionally, he’d most likely be continuing school. People always say that he mumbles.
