Biography
Galbraith won ECHL championships with the Idaho Steelheads in 2007 and 2004 as well as a Memorial Cup with former Ace Joe Talbot in 1999, when he scored a goal in the clinching game. One of just 15 players in the history of the league with his name on the Kelly Cup twice, Lance finished second in the ECHL in 2008 with 282 PIM and had a goal and an assist as Idaho bowed out in the opening round of the playoffs at the hands of Alaska. Galbraith placed fifth in the league in penalty minutes in 2007, then led the entire league with 27 points on 11 goals and 16 assists as the Steelheads rolled to the Kelly Cup, defeating the Aces in the conference finals along the way. His 353 PIM in 2004 placed third in the league during the regular season, and after arriving in an early season trade from Dayton, Galbraith helped Idaho capture its first Kelly Cup with seven goals and six assists in the playoffs, with the Steelheads beating Alaska in the division finals along the way. Now in his eighth year as a pro and sixth in the ECHL, Lance made an immediate impact in his rookie year, when he placed sixth in the league in PIM and earned two separate AHL call-ups. He completed his junior career with the Ottawa 67’s as the club’s all-time leader in games played (297) and penalty minutes (960) and led the team to another OHL title and Memorial Cup Finals appearance in 2001, leading the OHL in postseason points with 28.
