Brent Regner (D)
This is his fourth pro season, having been assigned to the IceMen by the NHL St. Louis Blues through the Blues AHL affiliates, the Peoria Rivermen on 11/6/12. Spent his entire pro career in the AHL, including the first 8-games of this season with Peoria. In 2011-12, was Springfield’s top scoring defenseman with 31-points in 75-games on 2-goals and 29-assists with those 29-assists also foremost for the Falcons on the team defense. Carded +4 rating last season as well. Has played in 189-AHL career games, collecting 70-points on 12-goals, 58-assists with 65-PIM. Originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the fifth round, 137th overall in 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to pro career, played four years in the major junior ‘A WHL with the Vancouver Giants. In his final season there, in 2008-09, topped all Giants’ defensemen in scoring with 67-points in 70-games to set a Giants team record for most points in a season by a defenseman. Carded brilliant +65 rating in same season. Also played for the 2007 Vancouver Giants Memorial Cup Championship team.
