Biography
2008-09: Had a goal, an assist, and a +2 rating in 3-2 win vs. Idaho Dec. 13. Had a goal and an assist in 4-3 win vs. Utah March 1. Had a goal and two assists in 6-2 win vs. Vegas March 7. Had a goal and an assist in 3-2 win vs. Phoenix March 14. Had a goal and an assist in 5-3 win at Vegas March 24.
Originally a seventh-round draft choice of the New York Islanders in 2005, Tuzzolino spent his rookie campaign with the Flint Generals of the International Hockey League, ranking third among IHL blue-liners with 34 assists and 44 points while appearing in all 76 scheduled games. He ranked second among league defensemen with seven power play goals and 23 power play assists. Tuzzolino played four years of major junior hockey in Lincoln (Neb.) in the USHL and with Sarnia and Sudbury in the OHL before turning pro at the end of the 2006-07 season with the Fort Wayne Comets, at that time members of the UHL (now IHL). His best junior campaign came in 2005-06, when he scored 10 goals and assisted on 28 others in 63 games while splitting the year with Sarnia and Sudbury.
