Stewart named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week
PRINCETON, N.J. - Brian Stewart of the Bakersfield Condors is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Feb. 11-17. It is the third time in Stewart’s career that he was won the weekly honor.
The 28-year-old went 2-0-0 with one shutout, a 0.50 goals-against average and a .990 save percentage in two appearances last week, helping to extend the Condors’ winning streak to three games.
Stewart set an ECHL season-high with 52 saves in a 4-1 win against Colorado on Friday and followed that up with 46 saves to record his first shutout of the season in a 1-0 victory over the Eagles on Saturday.
A native of Burnaby, British Columbia, Stewart has won each of the three games on Bakersfield’s current winning streak, stopping at least 40 shots in each game.
Stewart has appeared in 98 career ECHL games with Bakersfield, Elmira and Greenville with an overall record of 53-36-5 with three shutouts, a 2.74 goals-against average and a save percentage of .917. He also has appeared in 10 career games with Adirondack of the American Hockey League.
