Vock named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week
PRINCETON, N.J. – Colin Vock of the Utah Grizzlies is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Jan. 28-Feb. 3.
Vock scored six of Utah’s eight goals last week, and was a +3, helping the Grizzlies to a 1-0-1 record in a pair of games at Ontario.
The 27-year-old scored three goals, including two on the power play, in the Grizzlies’ 6-5 shootout loss on Friday and added another hat trick, scoring the eventual game-winner and adding another power-play goal, in Utah’s 3-0 win on Saturday.
Vock will look to become just the fifth player in ECHL history, and the first since Steve Gibson in 1997, to score three goals in three consecutive games when Utah visits Idaho on Wednesday.
A native of Detroit, Mich., Vock has tallied 31 points (17g-14a) in 40 games this season, and leads the Grizzlies with 17 goals and a +13 rating.
Vock has registered 63 points (31g-32a) in 101 career ECHL games with Utah and Gwinnett.
On behalf of Colin Vock, a case of pucks will be donated to a Utah youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 27,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
