Wheeling Nailers’ forward Cody Wydo is the CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for March.The 25-year-old scored eight goals, added 10 assists and was a +11 in 13 games during the month.Wydo scored at least one point in 10 his 13 games in March and had seven mulit-point games including his first career hat trick on March 4 in a 7-4 win at Reading and scoring a pair of goals in a 4-2 victory over Kalamazoo on March 12.A native of Southgate, Mich., Wydo has posted 49 points (22g-27a) in 57 games with the Nailers this season and ranks fifth among ECHL rookies in goals and is tied for eighth among first-year players in points.Wydo appeared in nine games with Wheeling last season, recording six points. Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons at Robert Morris University where he tallied 150 points (85g-65a) in 151 career games.
