Grizzlies add goaltender Carr, defenseman Jones

West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced that the team has signed goaltender Kevin Carr and defenseman Mitch Jones for the 2017-2018 season. Both players skated last season for the Alaska Aces.

The Grizzlies are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Anaheim Ducks and the American Hockey League's San Diego Gulls.

Carr, 27, enters his fourth full professional season and has amassed a 69-60-9 ECHL record the last three seasons with Tulsa and Alaska where he’s averaged 23 wins each year. He’s played in 45 or more games each season as a pro. The Unionville, Ontario native played collegiately at Buffalo State.

Jones, 24, enters his third professional season after playing with Alaska the last two seasons. He played in his first professional game against the Grizzlies in Anchorage on Dec. 31, 2015 and scored his first professional goal against Utah on Jan. 2, 2016. His brother, Max, was selected in the first round and 24th overall by Anaheim in 2016.
