ESTERO, Fla. - Florida Everblades General Manager Craig Brush, along with Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach Brad Ralph, announced that forward John McCarron has re-signed with the Everblades for the 2021-22 season. McCarron will be returning to the Everblades for his sixth season. Throughout his tenure with the Everblades, McCarron has tallied 284 points (122g-162a) in 286 games. In the 2020-21 season, McCarron recorded new career-highs in goals (31), assists (37) and points (68) while serving as team captain for the second year in a row. A native of Macomb Township, Michigan, McCarron helped the Everblades win the Braham Cup in both the 2016-17 and 2020-21 seasons. This past season, he was named to the All-ECHL First Team and was the ECHL Plus Performer of the Year. Prior to joining the Everblades, McCarron played hockey at Cornell University for four seasons where he recorded 74 points (24g-50a) in 131 career games. In his first season as a pro in 2015-16, McCarron played 12 games for the Wikes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, but spent most of the season with the Wheeling Nailers. With the Nailers, he tallied 31 points (14g-17a) in 51 regular-season games before adding 23 points (11g-12a) in 25 postseason contests, helping the Nailers advance to the 2016 Kelly Cup Finals.
