Hohmann named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

Cason Hohmann of the Elmira Jackals is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 22-28.Hohmann recorded seven assists and was a +4 in three games last week.The 23-year-old had two assists in a 5-3 loss to Reading on Friday, picked up four helpers in a 7-4 win at Wheeling on Saturday and added an assist in a 3-1 victory against the Nailers on Sunday.Under an American Hockey League contract with Rochester, Hohmann is fifth among ECHL rookies with 29 assists and is tied for fifth among first-year players with 45 points in 45 games this season. A native of Arlington, Texas, he spent the previous four seasons at Boston University where he tallied 92 points (31g-61a) in 145 career games.On behalf of Cason Hohmann, a case of pucks will be donated to an Elmira youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL.
