Former South Carolina Stingrays and current Philadelphia Flyers’ goaltender Michal Neuvirth is The MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus of the Month for February. The leading distributor of game- worn hockey jerseys and “Official Game-Worn Jersey Source of the ECHL,” MeiGray has sold more than 7,000 jerseys since it became “The Official Game-Worn Jersey Source of the ECHL” in 2002-03. The 27-year-old went 5-1-2 with a 2.44 goals-against average and a save percentage of .908 in eight appearances during the month. Neuvirth allowed two goals or less in five of his eight appearances while making at least 24 saves in four games.Neuvirth has appeared in 29 games with the Flyers this season going 16-7-4 with three shutouts, a 2.22 goals-against average and a save percentage of .927, which ranks fourth in the league.Selected by the Washington Capitals in the second round (34th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Neuvirth has seen action in 197 career NHL games with Philadelphia, the New York Islanders, Buffalo and Washington posting an overall record of 82-70-21 with 10 shutouts, a 2.66 goals-against average and a save percentage of .914. He has also appeared in 40 career American Hockey League games with Hershey and captured Calder Cup titles in 2009 and 2010.Neuvirth made his professional debut with the Stingays during the 2008-09 season, appearing in 13 games and posting a record of 6-7-0 with a 2.28 goals-against average and a save percentage of .918 while earning a spot in the 2009 ECHL All-Star Game.There have been who have played in the NHL after playing in the ECHL including 21 who have made their debut in 2015-16.
