Two Game 7s on tap for Wednesday

After tonight, the field in the Conference Semifinals of the 2016 Kelly Cup Playoffs will be set as a pair of Game 7s are on the docket. Tonight's games are the 34th and 35th Game 7s in ECHL postseason history. The home team is 23-10 in the previous 33 Game 7 situations.First on the schedule is Fort Wayne hosting Cincinnati at 7:35 p.m. ET. The Komets forced tonight's game with a 2-1 overtime win on home ice on Monday. Each of the last three games in the series have been decided in overtime, with Fort Wayne winning two of those three contests. The winner of tonight's game will take on Utah, a 4 games to 2 winner over Colorado, in the Western Conference Semifinals.Fort Wayne is playing in its second ECHL Game 7 after dropping a 5-2 decision at Toledo last season in the North Division Finals. Cincinnati is playing in its ECHL record seventh Game 7 all-time. The Cyclones hold a 4-2 record in their previous Game 7s, having won each of their last four seventh-game situations.The other Game 7 on Wednesday's schedule features Allen hosting Idaho at 7:05 p.m. CT. The Americans defeated Idaho 4-2 last night to force tonight's deciding contest. The winner of tonight's game meets Missouri, which defeated Quad City 4 games to 0, in the other Western Conference Semifinals series.Allen is playing its third consecutive Game 7, all on home ice, after defeating Ontario in last season's Western Conference Finals and South Carolina in the Western Conference Finals. The Americans have outscored their opposition 9-2 in their two previous Game 7s.
