Nailers force Game 7 with 4-3 OT win

Jarrett Burton scored with 1:19 remaining in overtime to give the Wheeling Nailers a 4-3 win over the South Carolina Stingrays in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday. Wheeling's win ties the series at 3-3 and forces a seventh and decisive game at the North Charleston Coliseum on Tuesday.South Carolina started quickly, scoring two goals in the opening 5:38 of the contest as Kelly Zajac opened the scoring just 43 seconds into the opening period and Stephan Vigier followed up with his sixth goal of the playoffs.Wheeling cut the deficit in half midway through the opening period when Anton Zlobin deflected a shot past Vitek Vanecek on a power play at 10:12. John McCarron pulled the Nailers even 11:58 into the second period when he got behind the Stingrays' defense and beat Vanecek with a back hand to the blocker sideBrian Foster earned the win in goal for the Nailers, stopping 31 of the 34 shots he faced. Wheeling was 8-for-8 on the penalty kill while scoring twice on four power-play opportunities.The winner of Tuesday's Game 7 will advance to the Kelly Cup Finals where they will meet the Western Conference champion Allen Americans.
