BRAMPTON, Ontario - The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and AHL's St. John's IceCaps, announced that forward Patrick Megannety has signed with the club for the 2016-17 season.
Megannety concluded his collegiate career with Clarkson University in 2015-16 and immediately made the jump to the pro ranks, appearing in eight contests with the Beast, scoring one goal.
The 23-year-old spent four years at Clarkson, appearing in a total of 142 games and recording 57 points (22g-35a) with 34 penalty minutes.
Before starting his college career, Megannety was a star forward for the Georgetown Raiders in the Ontario Junior A Hockey League for parts of three seasons from 2009-12. He appeared in 91 games for the Raiders and tallied 82 points (41g-41a). His best season of junior hockey came in the 2011-12 when he scored 46 points (26g-20a) in 46 games.
