Cyclones add rookie tandem

Cincinnati, Ohio - Cincinnati Cyclones Head Coach Matt Macdonald has announced that defenseman Craig Dalrymple and forward Zach Schroeder have signed contracts for the 2016-2017 season.

The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League and the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Dalrymple comes to Cincinnati following a four-year career at Ohio State University, where he appeared in 118 games from 2012-16, totaling 43 points (9g-34a). He was named team captain during his senior season, and is a three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete, and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten choice. He was also voted 2013 Rookie of the Year by his teammates.

Prior to his time in Columbus, the Kippen, Ontario native spent two seasons with the Powell River Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League, skating in 113 games and accounting for 84 points (29g-55a) in that span.

Schroeder heads to the Cyclones after four years at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He spent parts of five seasons with the Engineers, netting 55 points (16g-39a) in 151 career games.

Prior to his time at RPI, Schroeder attended Saint Thomas Academy in Minnesota, where he helped his team to Minnesota State Championships in 2008 and 2011. He was a team captain at Saint Thomas, earning All-State and All-Conference honors, and he was also named Team Most Valuable Player during his senior season.
