BRAMPTON, Ontario - The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and the AHL's St. John's IceCaps, announced that defenseman Tim Billingsley has re-signed with the club for the 2016-17 season.

Billingsley, 26, will be entering his second full season in the ECHL as a member of the Beast. Last season, the Ottawa, Ontario native suited up for 53 games and collected 10 points (3g-7a) to accompany his 37 penalty minutes.

A draft pick of the NHL's Arizona Coyotes in 2008, Billingsley spent four seasons in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport system playing for his hometown Carleton University. In 84 career CIS from 2011-15 seasons Billingsley tallied 52 points (10g-42a) and 62 penalty minutes.

Prior to joining Carelton, Billingsley was an Ontario Hockey League mainstay with the Toronto St. Michael's Majors, Mississauga St. Michael's Majors and Niagara IceDogs between 2006-11. He recorded a total of 65 points (12g-53a) with 292 penalty minutes in 265 games.

Billingsley played his first professional games with the Central Hockey League's Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in 2011-12, where he recorded five points (2g-3a) in 15 games.
