Everblades agree to terms with Mike Aviani

ESTERO, Fla. – Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush announced that forward Mike Aviani has agreed to terms with the Everblades for the 2016-17 season.

The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes and American Hockey League's Charlotte Checkers.

Aviani, 23, returns for a third season in Southwest Florida after totaling 16 points (8g-8a) in 23 games with the Everblades last season. In addition, Aviani logged an assist in seven American Hockey League appearances last season split between the San Jose Barracuda and the Iowa Wild.

The 5-11, 195-pound center totaled 25 points (10g-15a) in 54 games during his rookie campaign with Florida in 2014-15. Aviani opened that season appearing in two games with the Checkers.

The Surrey, British Columbia native amassed 205 points during his five seasons with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League from 2009-14. Aviani recorded a career-best 81 points (38g-43a) in 2013-14
