INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — The Missouri Mavericks announced that they have re-signed defenseman Bryce Aneloski and signed rookie forward Dan Correale for the 2016-17 season.
The Mavericks are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders and the American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
Aneloski, 26, led all Mavericks blueliners last season in goals (8), points (28) and plus/minus (+24), and finished second among Missouri defensemen with 20 assists. He also chipped in four power-play goals and 11 power-play assists over the course of the campaigns.
Before coming to Missouri, Aneloski logged two seasons with the Orlando Solar Bears where he notched 56 points (18g-38a) over 117 games. The native of Pekin, Ill. has also skated in 15 American Hockey League games between the Toronto Marlies, Iowa Wild, Providence Bruins and Bridgeport. Correale turns pro this season after completing a four-year collegiate career at the University of New Hampshire. The 24-year-old is coming off of a senior season that saw him post career highs in goals (16) and points (25), totals that ranked second and fourth on the team respectively. He totaled 64 points (27g-37a) over 146 games with UNH. A native of Kamloops, British Columbia, Correale was voted as an alternate captain for his senior season last year.
