Two-time scoring champ, MVP Costello returns to Allen

Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced the team has signed forward Chad Costello to a contract for the 2016-17 season.

Costello is coming off two-straight 100-plus point seasons for Allen. The native of Johnston, Iowa won the ECHL Most Valuable Player Award for the second time in his pro career in 2015-16. He also claimed the ECHL Scoring Title the last two seasons in an Americans sweater. He was also named Most Valuable Player of the 2016 Kelly Cup Playoffs, becoming the first player in ECHL history to win the regular season and playoff MVP awards over the course his career.

Costello will begin his 10th year of pro hockey this fall. He has 228 points (65g-163a) in 144 games for Allen.
