NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, have re-signed forward/defenseman Marcus Perrier, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Ryan Warsofsky announced.Perrier, 24, returns for his third season with the Stingrays. The Thunder Bay, Ontario native proved to be a versatile player for South Carolina last season, playing both forward and defense. He enjoyed a career year, scoring 21 points (10g-11a) to go along with 174 penalty minutes in 58 games. He also appeared in 19 playoff games, scoring two points (1g-1a).In addition to a breakout season on the ice, Perrier also played a large role in the community. He was named the recipient of the team's 2016 Jerry Zucker Community Service Award for his dedication to the Lowcountry community. He attended over 25 community events during the 2015-16 season. In total, Perrier has scored 40 points (16g-24a) in 124 career games in South Carolina. He helped the club to an ECHL-record 23-game win streak and an appearance in the 2015 Kelly Cup Finals during his rookie season. Perrier joined the Stingrays after three seasons at Bowling Green State University, and three seasons with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League.
