Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, announced the signing of forward Vincent Arseneau to the roster for the 2016-17 season.
Arseneau brings a championship experience with him to the Thunder after winning back-to-back Kelly Cup titles with the Allen Americans. A native of Iles-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec, Arseneau tallied 26 points (15g-11a) in 46 playoff games over the last two seasons. He signed a two way, AHL/ECHL deal last season with the San Jose Barracuda. In 40 games for Allen, Arseneau finished with 27 points (14g-13a) and 68 penalty minutes during the regular season. His best year as a pro came during the 2013-14 season when he split time with the Central Hockey League's Denver Cutthroats and 13 games with the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters. In 60 combined games, he recorded 37 points (24g-13a), 180 penalty minutes and was named to the CHL All-Rookie Team.
Prior to turning pro, Arseneau played five seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan and Shawinigan Cataractes. He compiled 108 points (52g-56a) and 632 penalty minutes in 294 career games during his junior career. He was the QMJHL's most penalized player in 2010-11 (165 penalty minutes) and claimed the Memorial Cup in 2011-12 with Shawinigan.
