Beast add scoring punch with Pacan and Vallorani

BRAMPTON, Ontario - The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens and AHL’s St. John’s Ice Caps, announced the team has agreed to terms with forwards David Pacan and David Vallorani for the 2016-17 season.

Pacan joins the Beast coming off of his most productive season as a professional last year with South Carolina. He scored 20 goals and chipped in with 42 assists for 62 points to lead the Stingrays in scoring. His 42 assists in 2015-16 ranked eighth in the ECHL.

A sixth-round selection (177th overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, he has appeared in 253 ECHL games with the Stingrays, Cincinnati Cyclones and Kalamazoo Wings and has compiled 199 points (58g-141a). He has also earned several stints in the American Hockey League, appearing in 20 career games with San Antonio, Utica and Norfolk, tallying three points (1g-2a) with 15 penalty minutes.

Before making the jump to the professional ranks, Pacan spent two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Niagara IceDogs, where he played 133 games', recording 126 points (49g-77a).

Vallorani, 27, returns to the ECHL after spending the last two seasons playing in some of the top hockey leagues in Europe. During the 2015-16 season, Vallorani starred for Starbulls Rosenheim in Germany's DEL2 league. In 46 games, he tallied 41 points (21g-20a). One year prior, Vallorani appeared in 34 games with Milano Rossoblu in Serie A, the top professional league in Italy, and scored 65 points (31g-34a).

Vallorani joined the professional ranks as a member of the Reading Royals during the 2012-13 season and hit the ground running, scoring 59 points (17g-42a) and earning a spot on the ECHL All-Rookie Team while helping lead the Royals to the 2013 Kelly Cup title. In his second year in the ECHL in 2013-14, this time as a member of the Utah Grizzlies, Vallorani took a big step forward. He led the Grizzlies in all major statistical categories, including goals (24), assists (35) and points (59) in 69 games.

Prior to turning pro, Vallorani posted 114 points (40g-74a) in 149 career games at UMass-Lowell.
