ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, have announced that the club has agreed to terms with forward Brock Montgomery for the 2016-17 season.
Montgomery played in 40 games with the Fort Wayne Komets during the 2015-16 season, earning 13 points (5g-8a) and 24 penalty minutes. The 24-year-old forward previously suited up for Orlando during the 2014-15 season, where he racked up 37 points (13g-24a) and 73 penalty minutes in 58 games.
In 149 career professional games with the Idaho Steelheads, Orlando and Fort Wayne, as well as the American Hockey League's Texas Stars, the native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan has 74 points (27g-47a) and 123 penalty minutes.
Prior to turning pro, Montgomery played major junior hockey for the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League, where he put up 119 points (65g-54a) and 328 penalty minutes in 243 games and helped the Ice capture the 2010-11 Ed Chynoweth Cup as league champions.
