Carrier returns for second season with Adirondack

Glens Falls, N.Y. – The Adirondack Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, announced that they have signed forward Alex Carrier to a contract for the 2016-17 season.

Carrier joins the Thunder for his second season in Adirondack and his fifth overall as a professional. Carrier tied a career high last season with 47 games played and set career highs in all offensive categories, including goals (5), assists (8) and points (13). The 25-year-old winger also finished second on the Thunder with 108 penalty minutes. Carrier’s 2015-16 season also included a five-game call up to Albany in the American Hockey League.

A native of St-Elzear-de-Beauce, PQ, Carrier has appeared with nine teams over his professional career, including six in the ECHL, including the Thunder. Carrier has also spent time with the Elmira Jackals, Orlando Solar Bears, Wheeling Nailers, Wichita Thunder and Trenton Titans. In the 2014-15 season, Carrier played across three leagues as he earned his first career AHL callup with Albany, where he appeared in 13 games. The winger also spent the 2012-13 season overseas in Austria, where he netted three points (2g-1a) over 10 games with Salzberg EC.
