Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, announced the signing of rookie forward Matt DeBlouw to the roster for the 2016-17 season.
DeBlouw, 22, played four seasons at Michigan State University where he tallied 55 points (27g-28a) in 128 games. During his rookie campaign, he finished with 21 points (10g-11a) in 42 games as a freshman. He tied for third on the team in goals, second in points and earned honorable mention to the CCHA All-Rookie Team.
A native of Chesterfield, Mich., DeBlouw was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the seventh round (186th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Prior to turning pro, DeBlouw played two season of junior hockey with the USHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks. He notched 33 points (11g-22a) in 58 games during the 2011-12 season and earned an invitation to the inaugural USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in January.
