Nailers re-sign Fick

WHEELING, W.Va. - The Wheeling Nailers, ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, announced the team has signed defenseman Danny Fick to an ECHL contract.

Fick, 25, played his first season of professional hockey in North America during the 2015-16 campaign, when he was invited to attend Wheeling's training camp, before ultimately earning a spot on the club's opening roster. The Marine on St. Croix, Minn. native finished the regular season with seven points (3g-4a) in 53 games, then added five helpers in 26 playoff contests.

Prior to his time in Wheeling, Fick played one season in Norway for the Manglerud Star Ishockey Team where he produced one assist in 24 regular-season games, before upping his numbers to five points in six relegation matches. Additionally, Fick played four seasons of college hockey at Harvard University. He suited up in 96 games with the Crimson, registering nine points (1g-8a).
