DULUTH, Ga. - The Atlanta Gladiators announced that defenseman Tyler Shiplo has agreed to terms with the organization for the 2016-17 season.
The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.
Shiplo returns to the Gladiators for his second full season with the team. Appearing in 40 games with Atlanta in 2015-16, the Oakville, Ontario native notched nine points (2g-7a).
The 24-year-old made his professional debut with the Gladiators late in the 2014-15 season, scoring three points (1g-2a) in eight games. Prior to turning pro, Shiplo appeared in 158 games with Mercyhurst University. Over the course of his four-year NCAA career, the Laker produced 67 points with a +15 rating and was named the team’s alternate captain in his senior season.
