ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, have announced that the club has agreed to terms with forward Adam Brace for the 2016-17 season.
Brace joins the Solar Bears after spending the 2015-16 season with Heilbronner Falken in Germany's DEL2, where he led the team in scoring by recording 63 points (28g-35a) and 50 penalty minutes in 52 games.
In the 2014-15 season, Brace led the Florida Everblades in scoring with 72 points (35g-37a) in 71 games, and was named to the All-ECHL Second Team. The 28-year-old has played 136 games of North American professional hockey, having logged 120 points (53g-67a) and 60 penalty minutes with the Everblades, Cincinnati Cyclones and Stockton Thunder along with the AHL's Charlotte Checkers and Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
Prior to turning pro, the native of Cobden, Ontario played collegiate hockey at Canisius College during the 2008-09 season, where he posted totals of 23 points (6g-17a) and 20 penalty minutes in 33 games for the Golden Griffins before transferring to Robert Morris University, where he played from 2010-13. While with the Colonials, Brace racked up 92 points (40g-52a) and 77 penalty minutes in 102 contests.
