NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, have agreed to terms with veteran forward Rob Flick, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Ryan Warsofsky announced.
Flick was a fourth-round selection of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He has spent the past five seasons in the American Hockey League as part of the Blackhawks, Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers organizations. The 25-year-old enjoyed his best professional season with the Providence Bruins in 2014-15 when he scored 24 points (19g-5a) in 65 games. After signing with the Panthers, Flick spent last year with the club's AHL affiliate in Portland, scoring 21 points (7g-14a) in 60 games. He had two points in five playoff games for Portland, scoring the triple-overtime goal to win Game 3 of the club's opening round series versus the Hershey Bears.
The London, Ontario native, has skated in 279 career AHL games, scoring 70 points (38g-32a) in addition to racking up 439 penalty minutes. He also appeared in 17 games with the Toledo Walleye during his rookie season in 2011-12, scoring 10 points (4g-6a).
In junior hockey, Flick was an accomplished scorer for the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors of the Ontario Hockey League. He had 99 points (46g-53a) and 393 penalty minutes in 181 games, and led his club to the 2011 Memorial Cup Finals.
