NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, have agreed to terms with forward Scott Tanski, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Ryan Warsofsky announced.
The veteran forward enters his sixth professional season and joins South Carolina after spending the majority of his professional career with the Orlando Solar Bears. The 26-year-old has 271 professional games under his belt, including 152 games over parts of four seasons with Orlando. In total, Tanski has 78 points (37g-41a) in 203 ECHL games. His most productive season came in 2013-14 when he scored 17 goals for the Solar Bears. A fan favorite, Tanski played a large role in the Orlando community and was the face of the team off the ice.
In 2015-16, Tanski skated in three games with Orlando before being acquired by the Reading Royals on Dec. 1. With the Royals, Tanski skated in 51 games, scoring 19 points (10g-9a) with 24 penalty minutes. He served as an alternate captain for the Royals.
The Burlington, Ontario native spent his rookie season with the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League in 2011-12, appearing in 68 games and notching 11 points (5g-6a). Prior to turning pro, Tanski spent four years with the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League, registering 133 points (53g-80a) in 219 games.
