Thunder add Wall and Lough

Glens Falls, N.Y. – The Adirondack Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, announced that they have signed defensemen Alex Wall and Kevin Lough to standard player contracts.

Wall appeared in three games with the Thunder during the 2015-16 season. The 25-year-old blueliner played in two regular-season games in April in addition to one playoff contest, Game 7, against the South Carolina Stingrays in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Prior to turning professional, Wall played five seasons of collegiate hockey in Canada with the University of New Brunswick and the University of Prince Edward Island, in addition to parts of five seasons in the QMJHL. Wall was a member of the 2010 QMJHL champion Moncton Wildcats, who participated in the 2010 Memorial Cup. The St. John’s, Newfoundland native also won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2013 World University Games.

Lough, 24, skated in four games in the Thunder during the 2015-16 season after he signed a PTO in March. The Kanata, Ontario native made his Thunder debut on March 13 in Lake Placid and he recorded his first professional point, an assist, on March 17 against the Orlando Solar Bears.

Lough began his professional career after four seasons at Colgate University in the ECAC, where he appeared in 149 total games. Lough collected 31 points (7-24-31) over his four-year career with the Raiders and received the team’s “Best Defensive Player” award as a senior in 2016. The defenseman also played four seasons of junior hockey with the Cumberland Grads from 2008-2012, where he ranks second in franchise history with 218 games played.
