Whitney returns to Admirals

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk Admirals, ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, announced the re-signing of forward Steven Whitney for the 2016-17 season.

Whitney, the team’s leading scorer in last year’s campaign, tallied 55 points in 66 points.

The 25-year-old center began his tenure with the Admirals at the conclusion of the 2012-13 season. After departing for the Florida Everblades in 2014-15, the Boston College product returned to Virginia for the breakout season, one he will look to build off of this fall.

Over the span of 162 professional games in the ECHL and American Hockey League, Whitney has accumulated 98 points.
