Wichita signs rookie Gerrad Grant

Wichita signs rookie Gerrad Grant

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, announced the signing of rookie forward Gerrad Grant for the 2016-17 season.

Grant begins his professional career after playing the last five seasons at Saint Mary's University. A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Grant finished with 53 points (17g-36a) in 125 career games and also added five goals in 19 playoff games. He helped the Huskies take the bronze medal at the 2016 University Cup this past March.

Before heading to Canadian University, Grant played three years for the QMJHL's Halifax Mooseheads, where he collected 90 points (42g-48a) in 192 career games. His best season came during the 2009-10 campaign, recording 48 points (22g-26a) in 64 games.
