West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced that the team has signed goaltender Ryan Faragher for the 2016-17 season.
The Grizzlies are the ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League and the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League.
Faragher returns for his third campaign in Utah after a 24-13-4 regular season last year and three wins in four starts during the playoffs. He had a 2.33 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage in the regular season. He is 34-21-7 over the last two seasons in Utah with a 2.47 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage. His 34 wins ranks seventh all-time in team history.
He signed with the Anaheim Ducks organization in 2014 following three seasons of college hockey at St. Cloud State University where he went 53-34-8 over three seasons and was a WCHA Scholar Athlete.
The 26-year-old was voted as the Grizzlies Fan Favorite last season and was named the ECHL’s Goaltender of the Week following a three-game sweep in Alaska during the first weekend of November.
