Hanson returns to Americans

Allen, Texas – The two-time defending Kelly Cup champion Allen Americans announced that forward Greger Hanson has been signed for the 2016-17 season.

The Americans are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks and the American Hockey League's San Jose Barracuda.

Hanson will begin his fourth season in Allen this October. He first joined the club in the 2013-14 season as a free agent. Hanson had his best season with Allen in 2014-15 when he put up 61 points (28g-33a) in 55 games.

The native of Lidingo, Sweden, has nine points (4g-5a) in 38 career games in the American Hockey League with four different teams, including the Barracuda.

Hanson was named the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs MVP in 2015, helping lead Allen to a seven-game series win over South Carolina in the Finals, scoring 29 points in 25 postseason games.
