ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, have announced that the club has agreed to terms with rookie forward Coltyn Sanderson for the 2016-17 season.

Sanderson is set to begin his professional career after enjoying a breakout year in his final season with the University of North Dakota in 2015-16, recording 12 points (7g-5a) and eight penalty minutes in 35 games, while helping the Fighting Hawks program capture the 2016 NCAA championship in Tampa.

In 44 career collegiate games, the 25-year-old logged 14 points (7g-7a) and 10 penalty minutes.

Sanderson's father, Mike, concluded a 13-year pro hockey career with the Orlando Seals of the ACHL and WHA2 in the early 2000s.
