Rush sign defenseman Tolkinen

RAPID CITY, S.D. - The Rapid City Rush, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Arizona Coyotes, announced that defenseman Zach Tolkinen has been signed for the 2016-17 season.

Tolkinen split last season between the Elmira Jackals and Missouri Mavericks.  In 74 games with the two clubs, Tolkinen racked up 18 points (3g-15a), finishing just one point shy of his career-high in a single campaign.

Before turning pro, the 26-year-old native of Lino Lakes, Minn. played in 135 contests with the Quinnipiac Bobcats of the NCAA, and finished as a runner-up in 2013 for the NCAA National Championship.
