Toledo, Ohio - Forward Dane Walters has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2016-17 season.
The Walleye are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Detroit Red Wings and the American Hockey League's Grand Rapids Griffins.
This year marks the third consecutive for Walters in a Walleye uniform after he posted seven points (4g-3a) in 14 contests during the 2015-16 season.
The St. Paul, Minn. native has 24 points (13g-11a) in 41 contests over his first two seasons with the Walleye. Walters has also split the prior two years with Rockford of the AHL where he has posted nine points (3g-6a) over 49 games.
Before joining Toledo in 2014, Walters spent a season with the Elmira Jackals recording 23 points (10g-13a) in 50 games. The 27-year-old spent four years (2009-13) at Western Michigan University where he skated in a total of 144 games with 83 points (39g-44a). As an alternate captain in 2011-12, Walters helped lead the Broncos to the CCHA championship. He was named team captain for his senior season in 2012-13 and was awarded the CCHA Best Defensive Forward award. Walters collected over 20 points in each of his last three years at Western Michigan.
