Lane brings over 200 games of AHL experience to Adirondack

Glens Falls, NY – The Adirondack Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, have agreed to terms with forward Phil Lane on a contract for the 2016-17 season.

Lane, 24, joins the Thunder for his fifth professional season with each of the previous four coming in the American Hockey League. Lane amassed over 200 games of AHL experience with the Portland Pirates and the Springfield Falcons, where he netted a cumulative 48 points (26g-22a). Lane’s best offensive season came in 2012-13, where he collected 22 points (14g-8a) with Portland, where he ranked tied for fourth on the team in goals. Lane has also appeared in eight career AHL playoff games, where he amassed three points (2g-1a).

The Rochester, N.Y. native was selected in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes. Prior to beginning his professional career, Lane skated for three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Brampton Battalion from 2010-12, collecting 107 points (57g-50a) in 171 career games.
