J.P. Anderson of the Adirondack Thunder has been named the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month for March.
The 24-year-old went 6-0-1 with a 2.44 goals-against average and a save percentage of .927 in eight appearances during the month.
Anderson allowed two goals or less in three of his six starts while making at least 28 saves four times. He stopped 44 shots in a 5-4 win against Wheeling on March 18 and tuned aside 52 shots in a 4-2 victory over Orlando on March 21. He was named ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending March 19 after posting a record of 2-0-0 with a 2.20 goals-against average and a save percentage of .936 in three appearances.
A native of Toronto, Anderson has appeared in 28 games with the Thunder and Wheeling posting an overall record of 17-4-4 with two shutouts, He is tied four fourth in the ECHL with a 2.58 goals-against average and is tied for sixth with a .914 save percentage.
Anderson has seen action in 63 career ECHL games with Adirondack, Wheeling, Allen, San Francisco and Ontario going 26-17-11 with two shutouts, a 2.85 goals-against average and a save percentage of .905. He also has 17 games of American Hockey League experience with Worcester and Albany
Prior to turning pro, Anderson appeared in 223 career Ontario Hockey League games with Mississauga and Sarnia going 126-76-13 with 12 shutouts, a 2.86 goals-against average and a save percentage of .906.
