Garbowsky's overtime tally gives Eagles 5-4 win in Game 3

Matt Garbowsky's goal 6:04 into overtime gave the Colorado Eagles a 5-4 win over the South Carolina Stingrays in Game 3 of the 2017 Kelly Cup Finals on Sunday in front of 8,079 fans at the North Charleston Coliseum. The Eagles lead the series 3 games to 0 and look to claim their first Kelly Cup title on Monday.

The teams traded goals in the opening 20 minutes with South Carolina's Kelly Zajac opening the scoring with a power-play goal at 7:06 and Colorado's Julien Nantel pulling the Eagles even at 14:51.

Andrew Cherniwchan put the Stingrays back on top 1:07 into the second period with his seventh goal of the playoffs but Sergei Boikov once again pulled the Eagles even at 12:09.

The back-and-forth nature of the game continued at 15:38 when Steven McParland put the Stingrays back on top with a snap shot from the left-wing circle.

The Eagles tied the game for the third time 10:09 into the third period. Nantel left a drop pass for Jake Marto who beat South Carolina goaltender Parker Milner from the top of the left-wing circle for his fifth goal of the postseason.

South Carolina once again took a one-goal lead at 16:19 with a power-play goal from Joe Devin. The initial shot from Derek Arnold caromed off the end boards and landed on the stick of Devin who beat Eagles' goaltender Lukas Hafner on the right post.

For the second time in the series, the Eagles forced overtime with a goal in the closing minute with their goaltender pulled for an extra attacker. Skating with a 6-on-4 advantage on a power play, Matt Register fired a shot past Milner from the high slot for his eighth goal of the playoffs.
