K-Wings agree to terms with Mullin

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Kalamazoo Wings have agreed to terms with rookie forward Jimmy Mullin for the 2017-18 season.

Mullin missed the entire 2016-17 season after sustaining an injury in Kalamazoo's Training camp, but he still established himself as a household name by attending countless community service events and appearances. His dedication to the community outside of the rink earned him the team’s annual Community Service Award, presented by the Kalamazoo Wings Booster Club.

Before turning pro, Mullin appeared in 94 games with Miami University and tallied 47 points (18g-29a) from 2011-14, before transferring to Minnesota State University-Mankato, for his final season of eligibility during the 2015-16 season.

Prior to his career at the university ranks, Mullin spent two years at Shattuck St. Mary’s High School (Minnesota), where he was a teammate of current Wings’ forward Tanner Sorenson. Mullin made the move to the USHL in 2010-11 and skated in one season with the Fargo Force. In his lone campaign with the Force, he tallied 60 points (23g-37a) in 52 games, while being named to the league’s All-Rookie Team, and First All-Star Team.

The Cincinnati native was a fourth-round selection (118th overall) of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
