Glens Falls, N.Y. - The Adirondack Thunder announced that the team has re-signed defenseman Kevin Lough to a contract for the 2017-18 season. Lough becomes the Thunder’s first signing of the summer as he enters his second full professional season.
Lough appeared in 51 games during as a rookie and amassed 18 points (4g-14a) during the 2016-17 regular season. The 24-year-old defenseman also had one postseason assist as he appeared in each of Adirondack’s six playoff contests. Lough also made his American Hockey League debut with the Binghamton Senators on April 4, 2017 as he collected a shot on goal against the Rochester Americans. Lough originally made his professional debut with the Thunder in March 2017 when he played in four games with the team on an amateur try out.
Prior to beginning his professional career, Lough skated for four seasons at Colgate University in the ECAC, where he appeared in 149 total games. Lough collected 31 points (7g-24a) over his four-year career with the Raiders and received the team’s “Best Defensive Player” award as a senior in 2016. He also played four seasons of junior hockey with the Cumberland Grads from 2008-12, where he ranks second in franchise history with 218 games played.
