Allen, Texas –The Allen Americans,ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced that forward Casey Pierro-Zabotel is returning to Allen after one season away.
Pierro-Zabotel was a key piece in the Americans' second Kelly Cup championship in 2016, putting up 47 points (15g-32a) in 58 games. The native of Ashcroft, British Columbia was a third-round selection (80th overall) of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Last season, Pierro-Zabotel played in Colorado helping to lead the Eagles to a Kelly Cup championship, with 15 points (4g-11a) in 20 postseason games. He finished runner-up to Allen's Chad Costello in the ECHL MVP race last year with 88 points (24g-64a) in 72 games, which earned him a spot on the All-ECHL First Team.
The 28-year-old played his junior hockey in the Western Hockey League with the Vancouver Giants, where he recorded 115 points (36g-79a) in 72 games during the 2008-09 season.
