Beast bring back Durocher

BRAMPTON, Ontario - The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, announced that center Corey Durocher will be returning to the Beast after signing a contract for the 2017-18 season.

Durocher, 25, was a sixth-round pick of the Florida Panthers in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. The Ottawa, Ontario native played three years in the Ontario Hockey League split between the Kingston Frontenacs and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, tallying 94 points in 191 contests.

After his OHL career, Durocher spent four seasons at Carleton University where he scored 73 points (34g-39a) in 90 games.

During his senior season, he posted 11 goals and earned an invitation to play for Team Canada at the International Universiade. While at the tournament, Durocher scored two goals in six games as he helped Canada bring home a bronze medal.

After the USports season ended last March, Durocher signed with the Beast and he played in five regular-season games, along with three postseason contests.
