Eagles add NHL experience with Drayson Bowman

Windsor, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles, ECHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, announced that they have agreed to terms with forward Drayson Bowman for the 2017-18 season.

A veteran of 180 NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes and Montreal Canadiens, Bowman has posted 33 points (15g-18a) in six seasons in the National Hockey League. A third-round selection (72nd overall) of the Hurricanes in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Bowman has played in 522 professional contests, registering 220 points (108g-112a). He most recently appeared with Dusseldorfer EG of the DEL, where he posted 20 points (11g-9a) in 51 games during the 2016-17 season.

The Grand Rapids, Mich. native is the older brother of Eagles defenseman Collin Bowman, as the pair will now be playing on the same team for the first time since the duo played three games together with Colorado in the 2015-16 season. In addition to the 28 year-old’s time in the NHL, Bowman has also competed in 264 AHL contests, registering 147 points (72g-75a).

Prior to making his NHL debut in 2009, Bowman spent four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Spokane Chiefs and helped the team capture a WHL and a Memorial Cup championship in 2008. He went on to be named to the Memorial Cup All-Star Team and the WHL West second All-Star Team that same season. Bowman was named to the WHL West second All-Star Team again in 2009.
