Royals sign Loic Leduc

Reading, Pa. – The Reading Royals, ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Loic Leduc.

Leduc, who hails from Chateauguay, Quebec, is entering his fourth year of professional play. Last season, the 23-year-old recorded three points (1g-2a) and 36 penalty minutes in 33 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. A fourth-round pick of the New York Islanders in 2012, Leduc has played a total of 53 AHL games over the past two seasons with the Sound Tigers, registering four points (1g-3a) and 76 penalty minutes. He has also played in 76 ECHL games in his career with the Stockton Thunder, Colorado Eagles and Missouri Mavericks, recording a total of nine points (5g-4a) and 120 penalty minutes.

Prior to turning pro, Leduc played 202 total major junior games primarily with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he recorded 31 points (9g-22a) and 278 total penalty minutes.
