After dropping their first four games of the 2017-18 season, the Atlanta Gladiators found the win column last week, picking up wins in each of their three games on the road against South Division rivals.
The Gladiators notched their first win of the season on Thursday with a 5-4 victory at Jacksonville. Derek Nesbitt scored a pair of goals in the win while Ben Danford (1g-1a), Thomas Frazee (2a), Alex Gacek (2a) and Chase Witala (2a) also had multi-point efforts. Patrick D’Amico notched the game-winning goal, breaking a 4-4 tie 3:23 into the final period.
On Saturday, Atlanta spoiled Orlando’s home opener, skating away with a 5-4 win at Amway Center. Five different Gladiators tallied goals in the win while Matt Ginn stopped 39 shots to earn his first win of the season in goal.
Atlanta ended its road trip on Sunday with a 4-2 win over the Solar Bears. Phil Lane extended his goal streak to three games with a pair of scores while Frazee added a goal and an assist for his second two-point game of the week. Dan Vladar won his second consecutive start with 36 saves.
Frazee leads Atlanta through seven games with eight points (3g-5a). Lindsay Sparks ranks second on the team with seven points (0g-7a), and his seven assists are tied for third in the league. Lane’s five goals are a team high, and are tied for third overall in the league.
The Gladiators return home for a pair of games this week, hosting Kansas City on Friday and Saturday.
