The ECHL on Tuesday announced the following fines and suspension.
Wheeling’s Meurs fined, suspended
Wheeling’s Garrett Meurs has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #100, Wheeling at Indy, on Nov. 4.
Meurs was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for slashing under Rule #61.5 at 10:03 of the second period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline.
Meurs will miss Wheeling’s game against Toledo on Nov. 10.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.
Manchester’s Turgeon fined
Manchester’s Tony Turgeon has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #105, Manchester at Norfolk, on Nov. 4
Turgeon was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for head-butting under Rule #47.5 at 5:56 of the third period. He is fined under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.
Allen’s Martinson, Wichita’s Cameron fined
Allen head coach Steve Martinson has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions following ECHL Game #98, Wichita at Allen, on Nov. 4.
Wichita head coach Malcolm Cameron has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of comments he made on social media.
